Those of you in the Mad Cows Herd may know me as the team’s official photographer — I’m the one who takes the photos at the team’s gallery web site. I try to do at least as good a job (or better) than most event photographers, but I’m not looking to make any money off of it; I just enjoy photography and providing the service to the team.

And though I’m officially affiliated with the Cows, I usually try to catch UCD Tri Team members as best I can.

If you want prints of any of the photos of yourself or other teammates, you have a couple options:

• Get the digital image and tweak it the way you want, and print it yourself or have it printed at your favorite retail outlet (Walgreen’s, Costco, Ritz, etc.). The photos on the web site are reduced to save bandwidth, and are good for small prints, but if you want larger, I will provide you the full-size image for no charge, just for the asking
• Have me print it for you

I’m offering this service because I have a professional photo printer that I don’t use enough, and I enjoy the printing process as well as taking the pictures. Again, I’m not trying to make any money off this, but I’ll charge a few bucks to offset the costs of ink and paper:

That’s quite a bit cheaper than the event photo businesses, and a bit more expensive than doing it yourself, but as part of the service I will:

• Advise you whether the print will look good at that size
• Look through the event’s photos to see if there’s a better match (I don’t always post all the photos)
• Optimize the image and the image background for printing
• Hand-examine each print for quality
